:: About Us :: MOVE....INSPIRE...DANCE ON PURPOSE...
Who We Are:
Breakdown, founded locally in 2003 by Lindsey Cooper, is made up of dancers from all over
the country. Our dancers range in age from 11- 27, and come from various dance backgrounds
and walks of life. We perform at local events, such as UofO Basketball Games, Festival of
Trees @ Valley River Inn, Cosmic Pizza, Lane County Fair, Eugene Celebration, and the Kid
Jam Celebration!
Our Goals:
On a personal level, we believe every person has a God-given purpose. Our goal is to unlock
that gift in each one of our dancers, and motivate them to dance "on purpose"; dance for
something outside of themselves. We choose to contribute to facilities like the Relief Nursery,
because we support what they do. In the past years, we have contributed enough funds to keep
several families here in Lane County together.
On a broader spectrum, our goal is to motivate the younger generations to put positive music
and influences into their minds. There is so much junk out there, that easily accessible to our
youth. We want to take a stand for positivity in dance, music, and ultimately, the Hip Hop
Culture. Hip Hop is the language of the next generations, and we must learn to speak that
language, then inspire others to revolutionize it.
How YOU can get involved:
